Bone Morphogenetic Proteins in 21061
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a group of growth factors knows as cytokines and metabologens that induce the formation of bone and cartilage. BMPs are used in dentistry to help grow bone where there is none to either place a dental implant or help stabilize a natural tooth. The BMPs work by signaling stem cells to migrate to the area and form bone cells. This process can often eliminate the need for donor bone from a site such as your hip or jawbone!
